Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, famously known as Davido, took center stage at the grand funeral service of Chief (Mrs.) Florence Saraki, the late mother of former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The lavish event, held at the prestigious Eko Hotel in Lagos on Friday, July 19, drew an array of Nigeria’s elite, from governors to top-tier politicians, and other prominent figures.
The funeral, a blend of solemnity and high society glamour, turned electric when a clip showed Davido making his grand entrance.
Flanked by his entourage, Davido was greeted with enthusiastic cheers as he made his way through the crowd. The singer didn’t miss a beat, heading straight to offer his respects to Bukola Saraki, who sat alongside Davido’s billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
In a captivating moment that had the audience buzzing, another clip captured Davido taking to the stage. The atmosphere shifted from respectful mourning to vibrant celebration as he launched into his hit song “Feel.”
The infectious rhythm and Davido’s dynamic performance had the attendees, including many who couldn’t resist joining in the youthful dance groove, swaying and moving to the beat.
Notable attendees included Anambra politician Peter Obi and Governor Ademola Adeleke, both seen mingling with guests, snapping selfies, and thoroughly enjoying the camaraderie.
Adding to the festive yet respectful atmosphere, another prominent figure, Dino Melaye, was spotted thoroughly enjoying himself, mingling and celebrating the life of the matriarch.
