See details as Dangote Cement unveils industrial internship scheme for Nigerian students

Dangote Cement Plc, one of Africa’s leading cement producers, has launched a student industrial internship scheme.

The scheme will help provide hands-on industry experience to tertiary institution students across Nigeria.

According to Tunde Mabogunje, the Dangote Cement Lagos regional sales director, the scheme offers a unique opportunity for engineering students to apply the knowledge they’ve gained in classrooms and laboratories to real-world situations.

Speaking at the induction of the first set of beneficiaries from Yaba College of Technology, Mabogunje said the scheme is part of Dangote Cement’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) The Sun Reports.

Mobogunje said:

The Dangote Cement boss also said that the company firmly believes that acquiring vocational and technical skills is vital to the well-being of any sector and the economy as a whole.

He added:

TimesNow.com.ng earlier reported that Nigeria’s cement industry recorded a staggering surge in sales revenue driven by recent price hikes.

Data from the financial statements of Nigeria’s top cement manufacturers submitted to the NGX showed that Dangote Cement Plc, BUA Cement Plc, and Lafarge Africa Plc recorded a combined sales revenue of N2.4 trillion in the first half of 2024.

This represented a 76.66% increase compared to N1.36 trillion reported in June 2023 by the cement makers.
