The Nigerian music industry has been abuzz with a recent exchange between singer Mr May D and fans of Wizkid.
The controversy began when May D expressed his admiration for Davido, Wizkid’s arch-rival, in a tweet on X.
May D’s tweet, which read, “Always proud of you @davido , very kind guy!! We don’t deserve you,” was met with a barrage of criticism from Wizkid’s fans.

The backlash from Wizkid’s fans prompted May D to respond, and in doing so, he made a bold claim about his own place in the music industry.
May D stated that if not for his issues with the now-defunct group Psquare, he would have dominated the industry ahead of Wizkid. This assertion sparked a heated debate, with some fans defending May D’s claim while others dismissed it as mere bravado.
He wrote:
“If no he wetin happen between me and Psquare , who be wiz ? Chai.”
In a bid to put an end to the controversy, May D called on Wizkid to caution his fans and prevent future confrontations.
May D’s statement, which read, “Next time , caution your fans , make dem Dey mind their business or else I come for all of you,” was seen as a warning to Wizkid’s fans to respect his boundaries.
