FCT, Abuja – The All Progressives Congress (APC) said the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, lied about threat to his life over his New Year message.
The APC national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, denied threatening Obi during his interview on Arise Television.
Morka said nothing in his sentence constitutes or suggests a threat to Obi or anyone.
He made this known in a statement issued and made available to TimesNow.com.ng on Tuesday, January 7.
According to the statement, the ruling party said Obiâs claim that Morka threatened him is âattention-seeking, playing-the-victim, emotional blackmailâ
APC accused Obi of peddling falsehood and misleading Nigerians in quest for political currency and relevanceâ.
The ruling party called on Obi to withdraw his false allegation against Morka.
Meanwhile, TimesNow.com.ng reported that Atiku Abubakar sent a strong message to the ruling APC as Peter Obi of the Labour Party cried out for help over the alleged threat to his life.
Atiku in a lengthy statement on Tuesday described the APCâs language towards Peter Obi as a worrisome shift towards authoritarianism in Nigeria.
The former VP spoke in reaction to Morka’s statement that insinuates “Peter Obi must be ready for whatever comes his way” over criticism of Tinubu’s government.
