Lagos state – The Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has ordered that all members of the Lagos House of Assembly be joined as parties in the suit filed by Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
Justice Yetunde Pinheiro has also adjourned till March 7 to hear all pending applications in the matter.
Recall that on Friday, February 28, the Lagos State House of Assembly leadership crisis took a fresh twist as 35 of the 40 lawmakers who are supporting the removal of the reinstated Speaker Mudashiru Obasa stormed the Lagos State High Court on the matter the embattled lawmaker had brought before the court.
TimesNow.com.ng recalled that Obasa is challenging his removal by 36 lawmakers in the state assembly on Monday, January 13.
TimesNow.com.ng reported that in a significant turn of events, on Thursday, February 27, that the ousted speaker of the Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, claimed that the current speaker of the House, Mojisola Meranda, had stepped down as the parliament leader.
Obasa revealed this on Thursday during an interview with Channels Televisionâs programme, Politics Today.
The embattled lawmaker said Meranda resigned at the peace meeting held at the Lagos House in Marina last weekend.

Earlier, TimesNow.com.ng also reported that the political crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly took another twist as security details assigned to Obasa, the impeached Speaker, have been restored.
At the same time, the security personnel attached to his successor, Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, have been withdrawn, raising concerns about the unfolding power struggle.
Obasa, who was removed from office on January 13, 2025, is now poised to make a dramatic return to his former position following high-level interventions by key figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
