Nigerian cleric, Rev. Sam Ajigbotoluwa, has finally broken his silence, unveiled the backstory behind the intimate and controversial exchange that set the internet ablaze.
The viral clip, reported by WITHIN NIGERIA, captured a moment that left many in shock, an alleged “anointing” act inside a Cherubim and Seraphim church.
In the footage, Ajigbotoluwa is seen kneeling before a senior cleric, engaging in an eyebrow-raising act of tongue-sharing, surrounded by a congregation that watched in solemn participation. The elder cleric in question is believed to be Alfred Oluwasegun Okikiola Ogunnusi.
The display ignited outrage across social media, particularly among Christians and religious groups who labeled it a disturbing fusion of gay and cultism. Waves of condemnation swept through the faith community, with many questioning the spiritual basis of such an act.
Amid the mounting backlash, Ajigbotoluwa took to his official TikTok page to set the record straight. With a firm voice, he dismissed all claims of homosexuality or ritual engagement, insisted that his actions had been misunderstood.
According to him, the moment unfolded spontaneously during his visit to the church, where the senior cleric initiated the act.
Unwilling to disrespect a figure of spiritual authority, Ajigbotoluwa said he reluctantly played along, believed it to be nothing more than a sacred transfer of power, an ancient practice reminiscent of biblical traditions.
