Why I’ll never marry without N500m in my account – Spyro

Singer Spyro has stated that he will not walk down the aisle until he has amassed N500m in his bank account.

In his post on Instagram, Spyro reflected on his challenging upbringing and his determination to secure a stable financial future for himself and his future family.

He also emphasised the importance of proper guidance, urging his followers to focus on breaking the cycle of poverty, insisting that it is crucial for parents to direct their children toward a brighter future.

The Who’s Your Guy crooner expressed concern that many individuals in his generation seem to prioritise superficial pursuits over significant personal growth, describing it as “gallivanting and indulging in frivolities.”

Spyro shared that he was not privileged enough to have toys as a child and faced numerous obstacles.  He further stressed that financial provision is not enough; parents must also instill strong moral values and a sense of responsibility. He wrote:

This comes amid a leaked voice note that went viral on February 27, 2025, involving Sophia Egbueje and Burna Boy and a one-sided sex-for-Lamborghini deal.

The 40-minute leaked audio recording had Sophia detailing her grievances to a friend. She claims that in 2024, her friend Ama Reginald and Burna Boy’s associate King Manny persuaded her to meet the singer.

Initially reluctant, Sophia was swayed by Burna Boy’s reputation for generosity—such as gifting his ex-girlfriend Stefflon Don a Rolls Royce Cullinan valued at around $500,000.

Sophia alleged that Burna Boy made several promises, including buying her a Lamborghini, but eventually ghosted her and failed to fulfill his promises after their one-night stand.

The revelation has caused a stir on social media, leading to a variety of reactions and offsetting discussions about social climbing and transactional relationships.
