Nigerian comedian and entertainer, Seyi Law, has opened up about his selfless contributions to the entertainment industry, revealing how he has supported countless talents without expecting anything in return.
In a tweet, the comedian expressed that many of his efforts go unnoticed by the media, despite the significant role he has played in uplifting emerging artists.
“There are so many things that are oblivious to the media, and one of them is how I have selflessly supported several talents in this country without collecting a dime,” Seyi Law shared.
He went on to recount a pivotal moment in his career when he helped a rising talent, thanks to his cousin, @toluthejesusbaby, who introduced him to the young artist.
“I remember my cousin disturbed me several times to meet this young, talented Nigerian, and he brought him to my mother’s birthday in January 2020,” Seyi Law wrote.
After meeting the artist, he decided to offer his support. “I spoke with him, and I agreed to support his craft. I wrote this script for him and went ahead to act with him, and like they say, the rest is history.”The comedian also reflected on how many skit makers benefited from his voice.
“Many skit makers benefited from my benevolence by using my voice, where I shouted, ‘Yeeee! Yeeeee!!’ in their skits without royalty payment,” he said, adding, “Kundus to them for their massive success.”
However, Seyi Law did not shy away from sharing a lighthearted anecdote about one of the skit makers, @talkingdrum_cfrn, who used one of his jokes without acknowledgment.
“They used one of my jokes from an experience in my elder brother’s house and turned around to tell me, the same thing happened in their home,” he laughed.
Despite the ups and downs, Seyi Law celebrated his journey in the entertainment world.
“It has been 20 years of God’s grace and impact,” he concluded, hinting at his upcoming milestone performance on June 1, 2025. “20 years on stage #SEYILAWTHEMICTYSON #1STJUNE2025 #TRANSCORPHILTONABUJA.”
