FCT, Abuja – Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has dismissed two of the agencyâs staff members over allegations of corruption.
Olukoyede made this disclosure during the opening of the 6th Annual Criminal Law Review Conference organised by the Rule of Law Development Foundation in Abuja.
The EFCC chairman said the two officials were dismissed two week ago, Daily Trust reported on Tuesday, November 19.
As reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Olukoyede added that besides dismissal, erring workers would also be prosecuted henceforth.
Olukoyede also recalled how he was once subjected to investigation for two years as EFCC secretary.

In another development, TimesNow.com.ng reported that a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olisa Agbakoba, called on the National Assembly to convene a public hearing to consider constitutional issues surrounding the establishment of the EFCC.
Agbakoba said the EFCC was unconstitutionally established and an unlawful organisation.
Reacting, the EFCC strongly opposed efforts to scrap the agency, warning that this would cripple Nigeriaâs fight against corruption.
